You can’t tell whether your new employee is a game-changer in your organization by her clothes.
You can’t tell by her title.
You can tell by her swagger.
Now, I don’t mean the way she walks.
The swagger of a game changer looks something like this:
- relentlessly pursuit of fine-tuning details
- uncanny awareness of when to smile & when to pursue dialogue with utmost seriousness
- keeps commitments
- seek first to understand, then be understood
- operates out of virtue
The thing about the swagger of a game changer is that anyone can possess it. Anyone.
There is no substitute for the swagger: not a degree, not a well-connected uncle, not an impressive title.
