“Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.” Hebrews 13:7
I spend a lot of time saying the right stuff to my teenagers, their parents & our volunteers. A lot of time. I write the “right stuff” as my facebook status, twitte, emails, text messages & face-to-face conversations.
But it seems that – from the Hebrews passage above – that what we say isn’t proof of the Holy Spirit’s work in our life. Sure, speaking God’s word is important, but the result is “the outcome of their way of life.”
My entire lifestyle – not merely my words – need to submit to the teachings of Christ as lord of every part of me (desires, words, thoughts, habits, possessions, relationships, etc)
May Christ take over more and more of my life and may I joyfully lay it in His hands.
