the two characteristics of great leaders (humans)

Jim Collins researches and writes about what makes an institution great and lasting and he has found that these great institutions have leaders who possess 2 qualities…

  1. An unshakable will – People who (in a most sincere and honest way) do what they must for their organization to be the best possible. These people are determined to face uncomfortable situations, potential failure, temporary setbacks, and criticism because they are determined to do all they can for their organization to be truly great.
  2. Humility – These people know and truly believe that the success of the organization is the organization’s success, not theirs. These people decline interviews that would make them popular, blame success on others (or luck), and blame failures on themselves.
