At Exit 59 today, our pastor spoke on 2 Corinthians 2:14-17. Paul is speaking of suffering and its place in the Christian life. He speaks of us being marched in a procession like prisoners.
Now….
prisoners is not a “user friendly” term. I don’t wanna be a prisoner, you don’t, no one does.
but us being prisoners symbolizes the suffering that following Christ will inevitably bring. And Paul says that this suffering is like a “fragrant offering.”
and what is the point of “fragrant offerings?”
Paul says that our suffering in following Christ is an aroma that reminds God of His Son, Christ.
How amazing….
I remind God of Christ.
God, thanks for that honor and may You allow me to do it more and better.

Kinda makes you feel guilty for not suffering enough.
