The life, death & resurrection of Jesus brings freedom from tyranny. We are an oppressed creature. We are subjects to forces, desires and repression that we have no choice but to bow to.
Like the movie Braveheart, when William Wallace shouts “Freedom” in rebellion against tyranny and oppression; we to declare are freedom from the kingdom of the earth. we declare our freedom from the way of greed and selfishness and hate. We declare ourselves citizens of a new kingdom. A kingdom of love, peace, forgiveness, mercy and grace.
Our new citizenship supersedes our old. We no longer need to pay homage to our old king, but our new King is a fair and loving king. The new King brings life where the old brought death.
