Ever been with a group of people and you were embarrassed by their words and actions?
I work at a church. I’m continually sorry about the things that come of the mouths of my fellow Christians. So here is a quick apology.
I’m sorry that we’ve used God has a validation for our own political, economic, and personal gain. I’m sorry that we’re most known for condemnation. I’m sorry that some us talk like being Republican is the same as being a Christian. I’m sorry that we act like we’re entitled. I’m sorry that – too often – we’re part of the problems in this world and not part of the solution.
I’m sorry that we’re hypocritical.
I’m sorry that running into us is probably nothing like running into Jesus was.
Just being sorry doesn’t remove me from the Christian family, nor does being a part of the family excuse me from making aplogies for the words/deeds of other Christians.
