Sometimes as Christians, we like to use Jesus’ words. The same could be said for the words in the Bible. We capture the phrases and words and ideas that we find in that sacred text and have no problem finding places in which those words are usefull.
So when you use the same words Jesus used, I’ve heard those words before (i mean… I’ve heard the english translation of those words).
But what about the Tone of Jesus? There have only been several times in my life when I listened to a person and – regardless of what they were saying – thought that they probably sounded a lot like Jesus sounded.
Maybe, for the next decade, Christians should try to get that nailed down.
A buddy of mine and I just talked about with this. He was at a bar with some friends and people came “witnessing” but their tone was so harsh. He tried to encourage them and talk about their approach but it’s hard for anyone to make serious changes in their lives. I pray we sound like Jesus today. Have a great day.
